Computational Methods

course for M.Sc. in Physics (4 ECTS), University of Luxembourg, 2021

In Fall 2021, I taught the Computational Methods course for the M.Sc. in Physics together with Dr. Mario Galante (under the guidance of Prof. Alexandre Tkatchenko). For this course, I prepared lectures, hands-on tutorials, homework exercises and exam projects. Challenging as it was at first, I enjoyed sharing my knowledge with the students and preparing for it diligently. The invested effort paid off in positive and encouraging feedback from our students at the end of the semester.

Quantum Mechanics

Course for B.Sc. in Physics (5 ECTS), University of Luxembourg, 2023

In Spring 2023, I was a teaching assistant for the Quantum Mechanics course for second-year Bachelor’s students in Physics. The lectures were given by Dr. Dmitry Fedorov and Dr. Loris Di Cairano (under the guidance of Prof. Alexandre Tkatchenko). In my weekly seminars, I explained solutions to textbook quantum-mechanical problems and introduced students to important practical aspects of quantum mechanics. The seminars were held in a blackboard style, which I found a thoroughly enjoyable and inspiring experience. In each class, I first refreshed the minimum required theory and connected it to the lectures, and we then worked through examples together. I made a habit of inviting students to the blackboard and guiding them through the solution, which kept the classes interactive and let me correct typical mistakes on the fly.

Hartree-Fock Tutorial

PhD Journal Club seminar, University of Luxembourg, 2023

For the weekly PhD Journal Club, I prepared a hands-on tutorial on the Hartree-Fock (HF) method for my peers. The TCP group is highly interdisciplinary, with PhD students coming from Chemistry, Physics, Quantum Field Theory, or Mathematics backgrounds. I therefore aimed for a pedagogical, beginner-friendly introduction to HF theory — the cornerstone of quantum chemistry. I summarized and explained the key equations and paired them with a simple, from-scratch implementation to show what happens in practice. The tutorial walks through three classic examples: (1) the HeH+ ion, (2) restricted HF for the H2 molecule, and (3) unrestricted HF for H2 dissociation.
